Starting in Florence you will ride past the gentle hills towards the west and then with stopovers in Lucca and Montecatini Terme you will arrive at the seaside resort of Viareggio on the Liguria Sea. Other stations on this road trip are Pisa with the famous leaning tower and the pretty town of San Gimignano, which is called Manhattan of the Middle Ages due to its many high residential towers. After visiting Maremma, Siena and the wine region of Chianti, your Self Drive motorcycle tour through Tuscany ends in Florence, where you are able to enjoy one last time delicious Tuscan specialties and wines before leaving.

Welcome to Florence, the capital city of Tuscany.

arrow down Day 2: Florence > Viareggio

Viareggio, Tuscany, Italy

After collecting your Harley-Davidson motorycle from the rental office, you head westwards to Vinci and visit the museum dedicated to the famous son of that town, Leonardo da Vinci. You continue the ride through the Apuanic Alps with Monte Albano and stop at the Parco di Pinocchio. After passing Lucca you cross over to the Tuscan Copacabana, the Versilia, and spend the night in a hotel on the Viareggio seafront.

Pisa Leaning Tower

You leave Viareggio and head towards San Gimignano. You take a break in Pisa, where you experience the fascination of the once richest sea republic of Italy with her emblem the Leaning Tower. Then you climb through picturesque landscapes with cypresses and olive groves high up into the Tuscan hills to San Gimignano, a history laden medieval town, with reputedly, the most beautiful views of Tuscany.

Around midday you set off over wonderful hilly country towards Massa Marittima. You stay two nights in the centre of this medieval town.

arrow down Day 5: Massa Marittima

Thermal Springs of Saturnia, Tuscany, Italy

Today is another highlight of your motorcycle tour in Tuscany. On one side is the Maremma, with a view of the island of Elba off the coast, and on the other side the Tuscan hill country. Water warmed to 32 degrees flows through the Thermal Springs of Saturnia, and you carry on through numerous, semi-abandoned mountain villages through the Tuscan highlands with winding roads you find in Tuscany only.

Siena, Tuscany

After a relaxing morning, you leave Massa Marittima, travel through marvelous landscapes and finally reach the medieval cityscape of Siena with its famous Piazza del Campo. The historic centre of Siena has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.

Florence Tuscany

On your last tour day you are heading north to Castellina in Chianti, along the Strada in Chianti, to Florence and drop off your Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
