arrow down Day 3: Whangarei > Paihia

New Zealand, Hole in the Rock

From Whangarei, we continue to Paihia, located in the historic and popular Bay of Islands. During a boat tour, we explore the famous Hole in the Rock.

arrow down Day 4: Paihia > Taipa

Treaty of Waitangi Grounds, New Zealand

We begin the day with a visit to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the birthplace of New Zealand. Our destination for the day is Taipa, located directly on the beach and the ideal starting point for tomorrow’s journey.

arrow down Day 5: Taipa > Dargaville

Cape Reinga Light House, New Zealand

Today we travel to the northernmost point of New Zealand, visiting Cape Reinga with its small post station, iconic signpost pointing to destinations around the world, and its solitary lighthouse. This is a deeply spiritual place. According to Maori belief, the souls of the deceased descend here into the underworld on their journey back to their ancestral homeland, Hawaiki. After this excursion to the far north, we travel south along the Twin Coast Discovery Highway, crossing by ferry from Kohukohu to Rawene. Our route continues through the Waipoua Kauri Forest, where - depending on opening hours - we encounter Tane Mahuta, the God of the Forest, the most impressive tree in New Zealand, with a diameter of 4.5 m, a height of 51 m, and an age of over 2,000 years. Overnight stay in Dargaville.

New Zealand

On our last day we travel along the Twin Coast Discovery Highway and will arrive sometime in the afternoon in Auckland. In the evening we meet for our traditional Farewell Dinner in which we can recap the adventures of our photography tour through New Zealand.

>>> All Reuthers Photo Tours convey the peculiarities of landscape photography and portrait photography with corresponding motifs. You learn more about the look for graphic accents and different perspectives as well as the use of different focal lengths. Finally, it is subtleties that lead to an individual photograph. For early risers we have the sunrise in the program - for night owls the sunset. And, of course, we will discuss the photo shoots of the participants in the tour group and award the best photo at the end of a Reuthers Photo Tour <<<
