After you have picked up your rental car from the rental office, you will first need to get used to driving on the left side. However, you will get to enjoy an incredibly beautiful view during your trip from Auckland to Paihia.

Inspired by the natural wonders, you continue to Taupo, stopping at Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest inland lake, with views of Mount Ruapehu (2,797 m). Your destination is Napier, rebuilt in Art Deco style after the 1931 earthquake. Overnight stay is near the Marine Parade waterfront.

Today, you will drive to the capital of New Zealand by rental car. Wellington is waiting for you.

Visit the National Museum of New Zealand. On your way to Nelson, you can take your rental car travel down the very first street of New Zealand.

From Nelson, you can take a day trip to the Abel Tasman National Park. The trip by water taxi is already an experience in and of itself.

Today you are driving to Christchurch, the biggest city on the South Island of New Zealand and drop off your rental car.
