Teddy Herz releases Peter Kraus classic: German Schlager "Wenn Teenager traeumen" as a new recording

With his new single "Wenn Teenager traeumen" (A Teenager's Romance), German Schlager singer and entertainer Teddy Herz meets the current zeitgeist, stays true to his style and fulfills a long-cherished wish. After all, it is Teddy's favorite song by rock'n'roll star, actor and entertainer Peter Kraus, which is why it is also immortalized on his very personal current album "Welche Farbe hat die Welt" (What color is the world).

Story about the song

"The first time I sang "Wenn Teenager traeumen" was on a cruise ship at the New Year's Eve fireworks off Madeira, wishing the guests a Happy New Year. I like to think back to this particularly emotional moment. And whenever and wherever I sing this song, I continue to wish my audience all the best during the saxophone solo," says Teddy Herz.

The popular 50s and 60s

Only recently, after the successful series of "Ku'damm 56" and "Ku'damm 59," the third series of "Ku'damm 63" aired on ZDF and conveyed the Schoellack family history and the flair and feeling from the time of the German Economic Miracle to an audience of millions. On November 28 this year, even an own musical "Ku'damm 56" celebrates its world premiere in the Berlin Theater des Westens (Theatre of the West).

And it is precisely for these 50s and 60s in Germany that Teddy Herz has always had a faible for, and in his "German Schlager Revue" he proudly presents not only his own hits in the style of this wonderful time, but also German Schlager classics such as "Wenn Teenager traeumen" from 1958 - the original "A Teenager's Romance" is by the way by Ricky Nelson - and the 60s cult hit "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht" (Marble, Stone and Iron Breaks), which composer Christian Bruhn awarded Teddy Herz with the rating "Very successful remake!"

"Wenn Teenager traeumen" appears like the previous releases of Teddy Herz on the music label Reuthers Records and is available from May 7, 2021 at all download stores and streaming services - the current album "Welche Farbe hat die Welt" and the family album "Weihnachten mit Teddy Herz" of course also as a CD in specialty stores and online stores.
