Discover New Zealand with Reuthers Motorcycle Tours
Left hand driving in paradise

Coburg, May 23, 2011

For Hermann Reuther, President of REUTHER-ENTERTAINMENTS, New Zealand is simply heaven on earth - and for the past ten years it has been paradise for the participants of his motorcycle tours, meanwhile also known as an Authorized Harley-Davidson Tours Operator. „Just imagine riding on your Harley along the mountains and at the same time you are right next to the blue sea. You will find all the countries you may have visited before on vacation combined in a single country: New Zealand! Or 'Aotearoa', 'Land of the long white cloud', as the Maori people call it. “This statement reflects the passion of the enthusiastic Harley-Davidson rider for whom New Zealand became - after living there for several years - a second and also spiritual home.

In New Zealand the former British colony and member of the Commonwealth driving on the left side is mandatory. Therefore Reuthers Motorcycle Tours offer for the time between November and March a special driving and safety training in Auckland where the tours start. This is especially nice for refreshers who have the opportunity to become familiar with the Harley of their choice and gain security in handling their vehicle after a longer absence of motorcycling. For non-motorcycle travelers there is the additional possibility to experience the trip as a minibus safari. This solution enables the participants to share the impressions of this unique trip i.e. with their partner. Daily distances vary between 100 and 300 kilometers depending on the time used for stops at nature monuments and other sights. After all, to the delight of Reuthers demanding clients it is stated in the tour policies: „cruising instead of racing“.

From Auckland, the „City of Sails“, the tour goes on for 4 days into the high north of New Zealand to the Cape Reinga: A spiritual location for the Maori who settled in New Zealand about a thousand years ago. According to their religious beliefs it is the access to their mystical homeland „Hawaiki“. The encounter with the Maori and their culture is a hearts matter for travel operator Hermann Reuther. „Rarely have I met such openness and friendliness as with the Maori people“, he confesses. Thus the route also leads to Rotorua, the historical capital of the Maori. Here the motorcycle travelers can experience a Maori culture performance in addition with a traditional „Hangi“ dinner in the village of the Tamaki-brothers.

A special thrill - after an indispensable visit to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand - will be the passage with the „Interislander“ ferry across the Cook Strait between the North and the South Island. Furthermore there will be incredible photographical motives lying ahead for the tour members in the famous Marlborough Sounds.

Especially nature lovers will feel at home with the numerous nature sights of the South Island and they will be able to satisfy their longing for untouched wilderness. Another tour highlight is the mighty Franz-Josef Glacier. Optionally the possibility of a helicopter landing directly on the glacier surface exists. A voyage with New Zealand’s oldest steamboat the „TSS Earnslaw“ and a visit to the Walter Peak High Country Farm are also elements of the t-ravel program. On the farm you can see plenty of sheep. The biggest group of sheep population by numbers in New Zealand. With the ride to Christchurch every Reuthers New Zealand motorcycle tour comes to an end.

With the knowledge that „Kiwi“ is a hairy fruit, the name of a bird and also the nickname for the New Zealanders and countless new impressions, the participants of this extraordinary trip return home.
