Teddy Herz sets sail: New single "Der Schlagerkapitän" combines classics with party atmosphere

Press Release. German Schlager singer and entertainer Teddy Herz is back with his new single "Der Schlagerkapitän" (The Schlager Captain). After successes with the roles "Der Eismann" and "Der Hauptmann von Köpenick", Teddy Herz once again shows that he is a master at slip into a role and bring it to life musically. This time, he takes the helm of a party ship and steers his fans through an exuberant party atmosphere with Schlager classics and good vibes.

The lyrics were written by Willi Giere, who was also responsible for the Teddy Herz single "Alle Herzen brauchen Glück" (All Hearts Need Luck). The music was composed by the legendary Christian Bruhn, composer of hits such as "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht" (Marble, Stone and Iron Breaks) and numerous successes for Rex Gildo, Heino, Drafi Deutscher, Mireille Matthieu and Peter Alexander. Once again, production was in the capable hands of Willy Klüter and Manfred Hochholzer, who perfectly staged the song with a blend of retro flair and modern party energy.

The song celebrates life, music and togetherness: "Monday was as heavy as lead, I hung around until Friday... On Saturday, I'm finally free and happily get dressed up...", sings Teddy Herz, inviting his fans to join in the celebration. From heartbreak to Rock'n'Roll, from babydolls to flower power dresses - this is where classic Schlager tradition meets carefree party vibes.

Teddy Herz will present his new single for the first time on the Schlager Musikanten unterwegs - Centre Tour 2026, which he will be presenting in March:

And in April 2026, starting on Easter weekend, there will be a road show through Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where Teddy Herz - "Der Schlagerkapitän" (The Schlager Captain) – will make a stylish appearance at the ship's landing stages before the guests embark and will, of course, be available for autographs and selfies with guests as well as interviews with the press and radio and TV stations:

Like all previous Teddy Herz releases, "Der Schlagerkapitän" will be released on Reuthers Records, a label specialising in German Schlager music. The single will be available from Friday 13 March 2026, at all download stores and streaming services. Fans can also find the current album "Welche Farbe hat die Welt" (What Colour is the World) and the family album "Weihnachten mit Teddy Herz" (Christmas with Teddy Herz), both also available on Reuthers Records and in the Reuthers online shop as gift CDs with fan merchandise.
